  • Review JTC Chapter 9: Process of writng a proposal essay
  • Review the “Brainstorming” handout
  • In-class workshop: Using the “Defining a Problem” and “Developing a Solution” sections in JTC, Brainstorm the problem and solution(s) that you want to address in your Proposal Essay
  • Assignment: Prepare first draft of Proposal essay
  • Assignment: Bring your draft in hard copy

2/18 Wednesday

  • Introduction to Peer review: Go over JTC Chapter 4, pp.88-93
  • Peer Review Workshop (in-class): Bring the First Draft of your Proposal
  • First Draft of Proposal Essay due 11:55 pm
  • Assignment: Read JTC Chapter 20, pp.634-645
  • Assignment: Post on Online Discussion Board 5 Identify specific areas that you need to revise or edit from the rough draft of Proposal

2/20 Friday

  • Review JTC Chapter 20: How to revise and edit your essay
  • Assignment: Read Alex Reid, “Why Blog? Searching for Writing on the Web”
  • Assignment: Post on Online Discussion Board 6 Visit one of the recommended blogs and discuss what aspects of the blog we want to adopt or avoid
